The new Co-Op store in Aughton will create as many as 13 jobs.
Next month, Aughton will see the doors of a new Co-Op store opening of their doors for the first time. The store will be on the former site of Cockbeck Tavern Pub and will open on the 10th of August.

The store will be open from 7am although the official opening ceremony will begin at 10am and will be hosted by West Lancashire's Deputy Major. The opening times for this store will be:
The site of this new Co-Op is roughly 2,000 square-foot and focuses on providing customers with fresh produce. There will also be an in-house bakery available as well as a wine collection.
In the car park, a cash machine will be available.
Dan Lee, the Store Manager of this new venture, stated, "We can't wait to open our doors in August and officially becoming a part of the Aughton community. We've put in a lot of work to satisfy the community and we can't wait to see how they feel about the new store."
Along with the new Co-Op store, they are going to be starting a new programme where a community pioneer will gather feedback and develop the store to better suit community needs.
Emma Day, the soon to be community pioneer, said, "The entire idea of the Cooperative is to fulfil local communities shopping needs, so making sure that customers are happy is important to doing that."
As with other Co-Op stores, a membership reward scheme will be available and will reward shoppers for shopping with the Co-Op. If a customer purchases a Co-Op branded product, they will be given a 5% reward and an additional 1% will be donated to local causes.
Members will be given the chance to select a local cause that they'd like to support and the causes will change every so often. If you work for a local cause in your area and you're interested in support from the Co-Op, you can visit their website. If you're in the Aughton area, then you must apply by the 8th of August.
The Cooperative is the 5th largest food retailer in the UK and recently reached 2,800 stores.
