Daventry recently welcomed a new B&M store to their town and just over an hour before the doors were opened, there were queues of eager customers waiting to get inside.
The store, which is located in Abbey Retail Park, had a formal ribbon-cutting event and invited some notable names. Not only did we see members of Daventry Volunteers Centre but Lynne Taylor, the major of Daventry, was also in attendance.
This new B&M spans across a 17,600 square-foot unit and with this store the discount-giant has brought 45 new jobs to the area. They offer a wide range of different products, some branded while others are self-branded.
B&Ms nearest locations are approximately 12 miles away from Daventry; Rugby and Towcester. Upon B&Ms announcement in Spring of their plans to expand to Daventry, the community welcomed them with open arms. One of their new cashiers stated, "This is fantastic for Daventry. There's always been something missing here and this is definitely it!".
In just the first hour of the store opening, there were over 100 customers roaming the store and hunting for bargains.
Sanjay Kabab, the store manager for the new B&M, said, "We were simply amazed by how many customers we had. We didn't anticipate this outcome."
He went on to say, "There were only about 15 people queueing at the tills but when we looked around the stores it looked like we had hundreds of customers."
This new B&M location has taken over empty retail units which have remained empty for several years. A wide range of products can be purchased such as homeware, health and beauty products, food and drinks, and they have revealed that they plan on having season products in the near future.
