In addition to classic British outlets, we also have a number of fast food restaurants that started in America and this can be said for TGI Fridays. After seeing success in New York and across the US, they started to franchise to other locations and came to the UK. Until 2007, they had a total of 45 outlets across the UK. Owned by Whitbread PLC, these restaurants saw huge popularity.
However, Whitbread backed out of all 45 locations soon after and the rights returned to TGI Fridays UK Ltd. Since then, the brand has continued to expand and they can also be found in some hotels belonging to Country Inns & Suites by Carlson. Standing for 'Thank God/Goodness It's Friday', this casual dining option is set to stay for years to come.
